Located in the CBD and within walking distance of the Adelaide Convention Centre, it brings together research, education, clinical care and business development.

With state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) has attracted hundreds of researchers, practicing and producing world-leading medical and technological innovation, and nurturing a new generation of scientists, researchers and educators.

SAHMRI also houses a cyclotron producing radioisotopes and manages a world-class large animal research facility, available for preclinical testing.

  • Over 70 internal courtyards, terraces and sky gardens
  • 2,300 car parking spaces
  • 300 bicycle parking bays

University of Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building

Situated in the heart of the Adelaide BioMed City, the University of Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences (AHMS) building brings together more than 1600 medicine, nursing and dental students and 600 health sciences researchers in an innovative environment where learning and discovery work
hand-in-hand.

The AHMS building is home to the most innovative, technically-advanced simulation facility in the Southern Hemisphere, Adelaide Health Simulation. With four floors of laboratories, ground breaking research is being conducted across the human life course, from conception to ageing.  

Opened in 2017, the University's new $246 million twelve storey building continues to build on the 130-year partnership between the University of
Adelaide, the Royal Adelaide Hospital and SA Health. It is also home to South Australia’s public dental service, the Adelaide Dental Hospital. 

 

University of South Australia Health Innovation Building

The University of South Australia’s Health Innovation Building will open in 2018 as an integral part of Adelaide’s Biomed City. The 14-storey, $247m Health Innovation Building will be home to the Centre for Cancer Biology and Pharmacy and Medical Sciences research and teaching and will also house our Innovation and Collaboration Centre, as well as the futuristic MOD., Museum of Discovery.

With more than 200 researchers, the new laboratories and spaces will support a collaborative and holistic approach to cancer, pharmaceutical and medical science research and teaching. 

Please note this is an active building site and personal protection equipment will be supplied.
